Sacred healing
The Greensprings Wildlife Sanctuary is located just east of Ashland, Oregon, at the intersection of the Cascade, Klamath and Siskiyou mountain ranges. The Greensprings lies within the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, called "an ecological wonder" and the first national monument set aside to protect biological diversity. This mountain is known for hundreds of fresh water springs bubbling up from ancient volcanic aquifers. The water here feeds creeks leading down to the Rogue River and Klamath River and provides habitat for the threatened sandhill cranes, Jenny Creek trout, and American river otter.
The Greensprings holds one of the highest diversities of butterfly species in the United States, along with rare wildflowers like Greene's mariposa lily and Gentner's fritillary. In 1846 the Applegate Trail, the southern fork of the Oregon Trail, opened a route to Oregon through these mountains, following older routes Native people had made. Today the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs from Mexico to Canada, crosses these same mountains. Approximately 0.5 miles of Applegate Trail and 3.1 miles of Pacific Crest Trail run through this property.
Greensprings Wildlife Sanctuary
The retreat sits on 140 acres of a 170-acre former ranching homestead, protected as a Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust. Much of the land was logged in the 1970s and has been returning to conifer forest and oak savanna ever since, alongside a cherished stand of genuine old growth. Our family plants trees by hand every fall.
The sanctuary is a land bridge: a protected corridor that lets black bears, wolves, elk and mountain lions move safely between wild areas. Eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks nest on the cliffs, and migratory songbirds pass through each spring and fall.

BioWell, before and after
We offer every guest a BioWell scan when they arrive and another before they leave. Here are three guests’ scans. Each showed more energy and less stress, which is what we usually see.
BioWell is a wellness tool, not a medical test. Individual results vary.
